Where do I start. I already talked about how talentless and annoying the Jonai are so I'm gonna start ranting about the one that really makes me declare that almost all teenage girls in America are mentally challenged: THE TWILIGHT SERIES (fangirls screaming). Now I know that I had a lot of twilight stuff on my page and my avatar but POOF they're gone!! And I admit it, I was OBSESSED with the twilight series. I was one of the first fans I guess, and everyone else who loved it AFTER the movie came out, YOU GUYS ARE LATE TO THE GAME!! The first book of the series was out at around 2005 or so and I read it in 2006-2007 (it didn't take me a year to read it, you know what I mean). I really liked it and looked forward to reading the rest. Then ECLIPSE came out and that was when I was CRAZY about the series. I thought, ate, breathed, and talked twilight. Well the latter wasn't quite true cuz my friends DIDN'T KNOW about the books at the time, so I had to keep it to myself. Worldwide, it was also very popular. That brings me to the next stage (2008-2009) when the movie came out and became a monster hit among teenage girls all over the world and became a household name. My friends read the books after the movie came out and fell in love with them for a little while. After that, they finally came to their senses and gave up on the series thank god.
Well, the first two books are pretty good, mainly because Bella is bearable, but in the 2 last books she turned into a whiny, annoying little bitch who demanded attention all the time so no wonder my friends gave up haha. Another reason why it's extremely overrated is that the writing really isn't that good. Stephenie Meyer drones on for chapters and chapters about what characters are doing while they stand around and act worried about something, probably worrying about protecting bella, which they shouldn't have been doing cuz bella should've been eaten by bears or fallen off a cliff while she whined and ruined everybody's lives. I probably would've loved the twilight series if bella died lol.
Let's move on to the movie. The movie SUCKED. Well actually the cast wasn't that bad cuz Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart really nailed their parts. Kristen Stewart especially since she acts worried, deliberately confused, mean, and boring all the time, just like the character. Olivia Wilde, the most beautiful celebrity today, should've played the-most-gorgeous-person-ever Rosalie (a character I actually like) cuz Nikki Reid's just plain looking.
Lastly, I don't even know why people are seriously comparing Harry Potter and twilight cuz they're on completely different levels. I'm not seriously comparing here, I'm just merely pointing out a few things. HP is a classic, REAL literature, with great writing and interesting characters, while twilight is filled with equally boring, gorgeous vampires and bad writing. HP movies have consistently gotten fair to fabulous (mostly great) reviews while the first installemnt of the twilight series got very mixed reviews. Even though most of the main actors (Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, Emma Watson, etc.) in Harry Potter aren't fabulous at acting, they're still good and they're put with some A-LIST actors who were popular way before HP, such as Michael Gambon, Maggie Smith, Alan Rickman, Robbie Coltrane, Jason Isaacs, and many many more. When I read the cast list for twilight I was like "... who are these people??"
Well that's all for now. Mainly I'm talking to myself and blowing off steam. Twilight's just a fad, it'll fade out soon and be forgotten, like disney tweens (they'll probably be the subject for my next entry. Stay tuned!!)
